United Russia

The United Russia party has always been closely linked to the Kremlin; however, it has not run on its relationship with Putin in over a decade. However, with the Ukrainian war and inflation from foreign sanctions becoming the biggest issues for the election, Putin has decided to do events with United Russia once again publicly. United Russia, for their part, has called itself the “Party of Putin” for the first time since 2007. They are explicitly pro “Z”, the symbol used by the pro-war movement in the country, and their recent campaigning with Putin, such as his speech on June 28th, can be understood as giving the war and Putin more legitimacy heading into the election. They will win the election and hope to use the win to rally public support for the war in Ukraine. Their 5 key candidates in this election:

• Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov;
• Chief of the General Staff of the Russian "Youth Army," Captain Vladislav Golovin;
• Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin;
• Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova;
• Military blogger Yevgeny Poddubny.

All of these individuals are allies of Putin’s Kremlin and strong supporters of the war in Ukraine.
