Liberal Democratic Party of Russia

One of the oldest parties in the Russian Federation, founded before the collapse of the Soviet Union. They are reactionary, populist, and Russian ethnic supremacists. They run to the right of United Russia on everything but govern, as many parties do, in collaboration with the federal government, even while in opposition. They appeal to Eurasianist ideas such as Russia’s natural borders and war between civilizations such as Russia vs Europe. Their voting base comes from Siberia, the Far East, and the north, places with traditionally anti-Moscow sentiments. Though they do have radical politics, most of their voting lines up with United Russia’s policies. Their former leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, ran the party exclusively, and it centered on him. The new leader, Leonid Slutsky, was part of the peace negotiations process for the Ukrainian war in 2022 before taking his current position. As with the rest of Russian parties, they are pro-Z, pro-war, and pro-Putin. Another interesting point about them is that Victor Bout, the merchant of death, is a regional legislator for the party.
